I just have to say how Smart my big boy is!  I have been concerned a little bit about his speech. He says and "F" sound instead of "TH."  So I asked his preschool teacher if I should be concerned and if I should get him into some sort of speech therapy.  Anyway, she said I didn't need to be concerned and the school he goes to next year would have speech pathologists if he needed it.

Anyway, to the point of my story.  She said to me, "I have to tell you.  I have taught preschool for 11 years and I have NEVER had a student that can read as well as Brenner can."  I already thought he was amazing, but it was nice to hear it from someone that actually knows how amazing he is!!!  What a smartie pants!

Naughty

I've been sitting Terek in the closet while I get in the shower to try to protect him from Joren. This morning he decided to make a mess. I guess his arms are kind of long.

Soccer

Let the soccer season begin!!!  This spring Joren and Brenner get to be on the same team!  They are the Blue Dinos (Brenner and Joren picked that name and the rest of their team voted for it)

We had our first game on Saturday.  It was super cold so the boys weren't too excited to play.  I took them to the truck and blasted the heat and warmed them up.  Brenner got out there and did pretty good (considering he was mostly running with his hands in his pockets).  We never got Joren on the field.  Hopefully next week will be warmer.
So if you want to find us on a Saturday morning, head to the Rose Crest park in Herriman (after I get back from garage-saleing, that is!)

Loves Lemons

Terek loves lemons. At first he made a face but he kept on chewing.

Terek at 8 months

Terek turned 8 months old yesterday!!!  I can't believe it.

He is such a fun little boy.  He's very easy to make laugh.  He loves food and is really good at picking up the pieces himself.  He is finally weaned and loves bottles!  And just tonight when I was trying to get him to go to sleep I heard him grinding his teeth... yes teeth!  That must mean that he has teeth or at least one tooth on the top now!  He's not crawling yet, but I'm doing everything in my power to make it so that he doesn't learn.  I'm not ready for that step yet.

Black Light Mini Golf

My boys love mini golf and they have been wanting to go for awhile.  It's kind of hard to find indoor places to go.

Last week when we were at the Kangaroo Zoo in Pleasant Grove, they had a brochure for their Kangaroo Zoo in North Salt Lake that has indoor black light mini golf.
That's all Brenner has been talking about all week.  So he talked his dad into choosing that for his family night activity.
It was pretty cool and they let you golf as many times as you would like.

Face Painting

Daybreak has their annual Spring Fling activity on Saturday morning.  Free breakfast and activities for the kids.  Brenner and Joren got some awesome face painting!  Brenner is a dragon and Joren is Spidey boy (but I thought you could figure that out!)

Ryan took the kids... when I asked him why he didn't get Terek's face painted, he said he didn't think about it.  Terek needs to learn to speak up for himself!!!

Top Ramen

A couple of nights ago I made stir fry with Top Ramen noodles.  All my boys gobbled it up!!!

Zoo Fun!

Ryan's mom is in town for the week.  She likes to get out and take the kids to do fun stuff as much as I do... if not more!  So, I will probably be busy, busy all week.  

Today we went to the zoo.  A lot of our cousins are out of school for spring break as well.  I think everyone was out of school for spring break because the zoo was busy, busy!!!
The kids had tons of fun!  They love being with their cousins.

Happy Easter

The Easter Bunny filled the kids baskets full of fun little prizes like puzzles, bubbles, crafts, new swim suits, new movies, etc.
After egg hunts at preschool, gymnastics, the ward, the scholes family, etc.... Easter morning egg hunt didn't seem too exciting.


And now I just get hyper kids and candy wrappers to clean up all over my house!

Diet, Exercise & Friends

I decided it's time to buckle down and try to lose the rest of my pregnancy weight.  I've been working on this for just a few days..... we'll see what happens.

*Paying $8.50 an hour to work out at our community center (this does not go under the Why I like Daybreak category)

Daybreak just go a little bit better

If you remember last year I did this post about why I like living in Daybreak! Well, Daybreak just got a little bit better.

They just opened up this really fun park by the lake. Lots and lots of climbing for my little monkeys.

It's right by the lake. Joren really wanted to throw rocks in the water but there were a lot of flies by the water... gotta get some bug spray.
Lots and lots of sand. It felt so nice to take our shoes off and run around in the sand.
There are also two 1/2 basketball courts... one with a lowered hoop for kids. Gotta bring our basketball. It's close enough to walk but a really quick bike ride. We were at the park for over two hours yesterday afternoon!

Just wanted to post some fun pics I took of the boys this weekend in St. George... 

Joren's first trip to the Dentist!

I don't know why I'm posting this because, frankly, I'm a little mad at him.

Joren had his first dentist appt this week.  We practiced opening our mouths before we left.  When we got there, as soon as he sat down in the chair, he opened his mouth really big..... until the dental assistant go there.  He would no longer open his mouth!!!

No amount of bribery works with that kid!  Maybe next time.

By the way, Brenner was awesome!!! He went in his room all by himself and I never even saw him because I was so preoccupied with Joren.

Sweet's Candy Factory

For Brenner's preschool we went on a field trip to Sweet's Candy Factory.  It's always one of his favorites... I'm guessing it's because his mommy buys candy when the tour is over.... I'm guessing that's why they give free tours!

It took a lot of bribery and threatening to get Joren to wear his hair net.  Terek wore a beard net on his head.  Can you tell what Joren has in his mouth?

The magical ages of my boys

There seem to be some patterns occurring with my boys....

They get their 1st 2 teeth at 6 months (I haven't been able to get a good pic of Terek's teeth yet)

They go to nursery when they are 2 1/2 (not 1 1/2 like they are supposed to)

They get potty trained at 3 years 2 months (I don't care when Terek starts showing an interest, I'm not even trying until he's over 3)

There are also a lot of differences....

Brenner is shy.  Joren tries to act shy (so he can be like Brenner)

Brenner rarely had potty training accidents.  I'm still not sure I can call Joren potty trained.

Brenner and Joren used to pee all over the place as babies... on their changing table, in the tub, on the carpet after they got out of the tub, etc.  Terek doesn't do that... it's weird.

Brenner and Joren are opposites in so many ways.  It's interesting to see how Terek is turning out!!!
