Shellie has created a monster

So, my sister in law, Shellie has been making her own way cute blog backgrounds.  Then she goes and learns how to do fun post dividers.  I love them, so I've been asking her to make me some.  And I've been having her do fun stuff for my craft blog as well.  Then I feel guilty asking her because she is so busy with tons of her own stuff.

So, I have been looking online and learning how to do this fun stuff.  I'm totally addicted and I'm neglecting my kids.  Anyway, if my blog ever looks funny, it's because I'm learning.

Mommy and Daddy

The other day, Brenner and Joren were playing Mommy and Daddy.  Brenner was the daddy and Joren was the mommy.    It was really cute.  They kept calling me Anisa because I guess I was their kid.  They had stuffed animals that were their kids as well.

Brenner said to me... "look I'm smoking."  I asked him why and he said it was because daddys smoke.  I'm not sure what secrets Ryan is hiding from me:)  I have no idea where he got the idea from.
Joren would give him "loves" when he would leave to go to work.  Then he'd get out his pretend steering wheel and drive off.  Kids do and say the funniest things!!!

He's got skills

Terek has great fine motor skills. He is so good at picking up little cereals and eating them.
Consequently, he also picks up bark off the grass and eats it too.

One last time... I hope

Since it snowed today, we thought we'd play in the snow for one last time.  (At least we hope it's the last time that it snows.... it hasn't stopped snowing all day)

The boys went sledding, but the wind was blowing snow into our faces, so it was really cold.  I told them I would pull them on the sled if Brenner would hold Terek.

Brenner wanted to build a snowman (and Joren refused to put a jacket or gloves on).  In all reality, I built a snowman and Brenner and Joren posed for the picture.
Isn't he cute!!!!

Windy Fun

We took a jaunt out in the west dessert to go 4-wheeling this weekend with Lucas, Shellie and Legacy.  It was really windy and dirty, but when you're on a 4-wheeler it's windy and dirty anyway.

Joren loves to ride on the 4-wheeler and never wanted to get off.
Terek just loves to be outside.
Brenner just wanted to shoot the guns.
Lucas bought everyone kites.  They were easy to fly in all the wind, but the boys freaked out a little... they thought they were going to lose them or something like that.

I feel bad I didn't get any pics of me and Terek on the 4-wheeler (I need to get behind the camera).

Famous (in the world of Engineers)

Ryan and Lucas (my brother) are famous.  They are going to be on the cover of CE News... an engineering magazine.

As famous as you can get when Ryan has a large pole going through the middle of his face and you can only see the back of Lucas' head.  Anyway, still kind of exciting.  There should be more pics on the inside.  I think you can go to their website and sign up for a free magazine.  They will be in the April edition.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

If you want your kids to get up at 6:30 in the morning, do this...

Read this story to them the night before St. Patrick's Day.

Have them paint their own treasure boxes for FHE.
Lead a trail of green foliage all over the house that they have to follow to find their treasure.
Make them drink a "green cow" for breakfast.
And green pancakes with green syrup for dinner.
(Terek gets green peas)
Have them make a giant St. Patrick's Day cookie!!!

And here it is almost 9:00 and I'm blogging instead of making them go to bed!!!  I guess I had better get on that!

If you ever come into Brenner's and Joren's room and the cute monkey handles are upside down....

It's because of this....
Apparently it's easier to climb up the dresser if the handles are upside down!!!

Like Mother like Son

I've been finding these little autographs all over the door trim in my house.

He claims that he's marking how tall he is.
My mom said that I used to write my name all over the place too, but I had a cute little tail trailing from my A.

Terek loves Fruit Roll-ups

Terek was being a little fussy yesterday and I was trying to get dinner cooked.  There was a fruit roll-up sitting on the counter, so I gave it to him.  He loved it!!!

Can ya tell?
Ryan wouldn't even pick him up because he was so dirty.
So off to the tub, he went.  I had him sit up for the first time in the tub.  He was so funny.  It took him a few minutes, but once he discovered the water, he just kept splashing!!!

Gale Center of History and Culture

If you live near South Jordan and haven't been to the Gale Center, you should give it a try.

It's a replica of the old South Jordan. It has an old school house.
It has a fun house with a yard.
It has a grocery store.
It has a gas station.
It has a mine.  And it's FREE!

Is it worth it?

Even though they look very adorable in their shirts and ties.....

I HATE doing this...
Ryan promised me at our wedding luncheon that he would do all of the ironing after we got married.  He has probably ironed 1 shirt a year.  And yet he gave me three sons that I will always be ironing Sunday shirts for!

1 Year

So, it was this time last year that we moved into our new house. (we closed on the 27th of Feb., but didn't move in until Mar. 8th.)  I have been wanting to paint some rooms for awhile, but we just never got to it.  A couple of months ago, I told Ryan we had to paint something before we had been here a year.

So, Saturday Ry painted this wall in Brenner's and Joren's room. (do you think I need to paint the green picture frames on the wall a different color?)

A couple of weeks ago, he painted the cubby around our TV.

I love that we finally have a little bit of color in our house!

Men vs. Women

So, I had a friend forward an email me the other day about a woman getting ready to go to bed... and a man getting ready to go to bed.  I don't usually like forwards, but I thought this one was funny.  So, I read it to Ryan and it got some giggles out of him.  Here it is.....

Mom and Dad were watching TV when Mom said, "I'm tired, and it's
getting late. I think I'll go to bed"

She went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for the next day's lunches.

Rinsed out the popcorn bowls, took meat out of the freezer for supper the
following evening, checked the cereal box levels, filled the sugar
container, put spoons and bowls on the table and started the coffee pot
for brewing the next morning.

She then put some wet clothes in the dryer, put a load of clothes into
the washer , ironed a shirt and secured a loose button

She picked up the game pieces left on the table, put the phone back on
the charger and put the telephone book into the drawer.

She watered the plants, emptied a wastebasket and hung up a towel to
dry.

She yawned and stretched and headed for the bedroom. She stopped by the
desk and wrote a note to the teacher, counted out some cash for the
field trip, and pulled a text book out from hiding under the chair.

She signed a birthday card for a friend, addressed and stamped the
envelope and wrote a quick note for the grocery store. She put both near
her purse.

Mom then washed her face with 3 in 1 cleanser, put on her Night solution
& age fighting moisturizer, brushed and flossed her teeth and filed her
nails.

Dad called out, "I thought you were going to bed."

"I'm on my way," she said.

She put some water into the dog's dish and put the cat outside, then
made sure the doors were locked and the patio light was on.

She looked in on each of the kids and turned out their bedside lamps and
TV's , hung up a shirt, threw some dirty socks into the hamper, and had
a brief conversation with the one up still doing homework.

In her own room, she set the alarm; laid out clothing for the next day,
straightened up the shoe rack. She added three things to her 6 most
important things to do list. She said her prayers, and visualized the
accomplishment of her goals.

About that time, Dad turned off the TV and announced to no one in
particular.. "I'm going to bed."

And he did...without another thought.

When I woke up this morning, Ryan had cut this cute comic out of the paper.  I guess it's just true for everyone.
Have a Happy Day!!!

So Big!!!

I was just thinking today about how BIG my kids are getting.  It seems like we are going through some major Milestones in their lives right now.

Terek is really getting pretty good at sitting up.  He still falls over when he gets distracted.  He loves to be in the swing and holds on for dear life (he has to... Joren is his brother.)  Oh, and the one that I wanted to post about the most is that his first tooth popped through.  That explains his crankiness.
Joren is a big boy and has been pretty good about going in the potty.  (I'm not holding my breath because he's been potty trained before and it didn't last)
Brenner is reading like crazy.  I can't believe how well he can read.  He picks up on things and memorizes really well.  He just has to see a word once and he remembers what it is!
