Video Game Junkie!!!

Brenner is a video game junkie in the making. We have a vsmile that I bought at a yard sale and he's really starting to get in to that. He's getting pretty good at the games. If only I could keep him only likeing those kind of games instead of Dead or Alive 4 that he plays at Uncle Lucas' house. (Can you tell I'm worried about the future of my boys who will be skaters and play violent games on the XBox.)

I think we're in for it with little Joren. He is already quite the stubborn little kid. He wants something and throws a royal fit (whether he gets what he wants or not). He loves popcorn but insists on eating it on the couch downstairs--- no where else!!! What a crazy little kid.

Thanks for the plums, grandpa!!!

So, when you get a picture as good as this one, you must post it on your blog. Grandpa Blake gave us more plums than we know what to do with (we probably wouldn't know what to do with more than 1). Joren stuck his thumb in the first one we gave him, but he actually seemed to eat a little of this one. (By the way, anyone living in a short distance is welcome to some plums.)

Rain, Rain, Don't go Away

Rain, rain, don't go away. Stay again for another day. This rain seemed so welcome. It was just nice to have a rainy Saturday. We didn't have much to do and I've had a horrible head cold all week and I haven't had the energy to do anything. So, it was nice to just kind of hang out at home. We asked Brenner what he wanted to do and he said, "go to the mall." He loves the carousel and I love to shop, so that sounded great. Anyway, Brenner got to use his new umbrella and rain poncho from Grandma Blake. He sat in the driveway and just enjoyed the rain. Joren couldn't quite figure out how to use the umbrella... he would rather get wet anyway.

Brenner loves preschool

Brenner is having sooo much fun at preschool. He is going to two preschools. A joyschool that we are doing in our neighborhood and a Miss Amee's (this one I don't have to teach and I have to pay for.) He loves preschool- especially Miss Amee's. He always says he has fun and he is usually pretty excited to go. He always comes home with some sort of art project. I love preschool because he gets to do all of these fun art and craft projects that I don't like to do at home. (Now, if we could just get him to like nursery, we would be set. That kid does not like nursery.... what do you do?)

A skater in the making

So, I'm sick of my kids summer clothes. I'm ready for them to have some new outfits. So, I'm putting them in pants and long sleeved shirts. I bought them for this winter, so they are a bit big at this time. Joren is having a really hard time keeping his pants on. The way I see it, he's getting practice because this is probably how he will wear them when he is a teenager. If by some fluke this style goes out (please, please) by the time he is a teenager, then he'll at least have had the chance to look cool. I prefer the diaper to the holey boxers anyway.

A tribute to Fall!!!

So, I wanted to decorate for fall today. I went to buy a bail of straw and cornstalks, but they didn't have them at the farmer's market yet. I also went to buy Joren's Halloween costume. I found Elmo... he loves Elmo. But, the costume freaks him out. He won't even look at it, let alone let me try it on him. Everything about Halloween freaks him out. We can't even walk down the aisle in Target without him crying. (Car washes freak him out too... this kid is strange). So, I will decorate with what I have and Joren will be a toddler for Halloween. And everything that I was excited for can be brought out in Brenner who is insisting on being a pirate!!! Just as a side note... my mom made Brenner a really cute skunk costume for Halloween last year. He refused to wear it. Now we're having issues with Joren.. oh what fun stubborn kids can be. Here's a pic from Halloween last year.

All of you professional bloggers out there... how do I put a video on my blog? I can't seem to get it to work. Does it have to be a certain format? Please help.

It was bound to happen some time

My boys are crazy little boys. You would think that one of them would have had a broken arm or stitches by now. So, I guess Joren got to be the first one. The funny thing is that it wasn't falling off the bunk beds or falling off a trailer or off the deck. No, he just tripped over a foot and fell and hit the corner of a chair. He got three stitches and he was a pretty brave little boy!!!

My Big Boy is off to Preschool!!!

I can not believe that Brenner is old enough to go to preschool. He is growing up so quickly. Today was his first day. We had a back to school party right before lunch and he had friends over. I decorated the deck with balloons and we had a school bus cake and ice cream. Then he was off to preschool. He was a little nervous (I think), but they had play doh as the first activity and that won him over. He had lots of fun and really seemed to like his teacher, Miss Amee. We hope he keeps liking it!!!

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, A camping we did go

Lucas & Shellie invited us to go to one of Lucas' new favorite camping spots. I couldn't tell you where it was, if you asked. But it was nice... not hot at all, but not too cold. The boys had lots of fun putting up the tent, playing in the fire and riding 4-wheelers. I even got a little time to read a book.

Sooooooo Big!!!

This wagon had to have over 60 lbs of weight in it!!! Brenner is so strong. He could even pull it up onto the sidewalk from the road.
