Firework Fun

Does this look familiar to anyone? The problem is... my kids WON'T wear shoes!!!! We went to a park to set off our fireworks. I demanded that they put their shoes on so they wouldn't get hurt. They did! Then, they went off to the park to play and decided to take off their shoes. So, later on when we're setting off fireworks, Brenner steps on a sparkler and burns his foot!!! Maybe they have both learned their lesson... probably not! So, for the 24th we took the kids to see Space Chimps. Then we took the kids to the water park at Classic (sorry, no pics). That night, Brenner fell asleep really early, so we didn't get to do fireworks. So Friday night we set off our fireworks. Joren was pretty much scared and either stayed on my lap or stayed way far away. Somehow Ryan got Joren to hold a sparkler! This was a big deal.
Brenner is our little pyro. Ryan would just let him help hold the lighter to light the fireworks. It didn't take him long to figure out he could use his sparkler to light the fireworks. So, he kept getting fireworks out of the box and lighting them himself. At some point in time he burned a small hole in his shirt and the back of his leg as well. Good thing wounds heal. (This picture must have been taken before he took his shoes off).

Getting Projects Done

I'm totally nesting... and have been for awhile. I think it's just that I figure once I have 3 little boys, there is no way I'll have any time to myself and I won't be able to get anything done again. Many of you have seen my project list. I'm slowly working to get those projects done. I thought I would finally take a few pics of my house. I'm mostly done with the rooms upstairs.

This is the boys' bathroom. We thought a Hawaii theme would be fun.

This is my bedroom. I had just recently decorated it in our old house. It just took my awhile to get everything on the walls in this new house and decide if that's what I wanted to put on the walls.

This is Brenner's and Joren's room. Ryan was great to make this pegboard to go above their bed. It turned out really cute!

Here's a little preview of the baby's room. I'm not done with it yet on the other walls, so I'll post later when I get it finished.

The magic of a Mouse!

Joren has been wanting to play the computer for a while. He can't quite figure out the touch pad on the laptop, so we've always just made him watch Brenner. Well, I finally splurged and bought a $12 mouse for him. Now, he loves playing on the computer and will get on there and play games all by himself. It's a little ridiculous that we have 3 laptops in our office, but whatever keeps them busy so I can blog!

What's a float?

How do you describe to a kid what a float is? Not a rootbeer float, but the kind they have in parades? It was my turn to pick the activity for family night. They had a preview exhibit of the floats for the days of 47 parade at the expo center. I thought that would be a fun activity. Brenner didn't want to go because he didn't think it would be very fun. But, once we got there, he loved it! He kept telling me thanks for picking such a fun activity. He liked the statue best. Joren like the Noah's ark float the best.
They both got balloon guns made from a clown and they both got their faces painted with dragons! It ended up being quite a bit of fun and they both fell asleep on the way home!

Starting to warm up...

My kids are scared to death of animals.... especially dogs. A couple of weeks ago, they went to the neighbors house and knocked on the door and when they opened their door, the dog came running out! They both came running home just screaming at the top of their lungs! After that, they would ask me every time I went to someone's house, if they had a dog. We went to St. George this past weekend to see the grandparents. Joren would not get out of the van and go into grandma rose's house because he knew that Tiger was in there. We had to go in the house and put Tiger in the back yard before he would come in. By the time we went home, we got both of them petting Tiger. We are making progress. They even petted the neighbor's dog that night when we got home!

Having too much fun to blog!

As usual, I'm trying to keep myself and the kids busy so I don't go insane and want to kill anyone. Last week I took the kids to Discovery Gateway with my friend Rachel. She used to live across the street from me and now I just don't see her that much. Brenner really misses his friend Dylan. The kids always love Discovery Gateway... there is sooo much to do. (The problem is that it's just too busy all the time.) We also met up with my sister-in-law, Ashlee, and her kids at Kangaroo zoo. My kids love this place! Lots of blow up bouncies with slides! Until.... dummm dumm dumm, the characters come out. Joren comes running across the room screaming in a girly high pitched scream and won't let me put him down. They had a kangaroo first, then a rabbit. I had to sit and hold him for quite a while until we were sure those scarry animals were gone! What a funny kid!

They are famous!

So, they were on Good Things Utah.

I have no idea if you can view this link for very long or not.

Give it a try.

Liberty Park

Last Friday Cami and I took our kids to Liberty Park. This park is amazing. It is huge. It goes from 9th south to 13th south and from 5th to 7th East. It has a huge pond, Tracy Aviary, swimming pool, amusement park rides, etc. My favorite part of the park and my kids favorite part of the park are the rivers. It is a replica of all of the rivers coming out of the canyons (Parley's, Millcreek, Cottonwood, etc.) The kids have sooooo much fun. Joren loved to just run around and play in the water (especially where I couldn't see him). Brenner and Dane took a ball up to the top and would follow it down the river. They did this for hours.
Cami and I tried to sit and relax and visit as much as possible. We didn't get to do that much, but it was still fun!

Wheeler Farm

Last week I took the kids to wheeler farm (I just remembered that I had taken pics.) They had tons of fun, but I did not. Wheeler Farm, 95 degree temperatures, 3 kids 4 and under and being pregnant are not a good combination.
By the way, I know why people don't take pictures of their third kid... there just isn't time to pull out the camera. We had lots of fun with Legacy. I think she loves us now!!!

4th Weekend

For the 4th Weekend we headed down to Big Rock Candy Mountain (it is a little south of Richfield). This was Ry's parents Christmas present to us. We stayed in these little cabins by the river and had a fun grassy area to play on. You would ride your 4-wheelers right from camp over a bridge and up into the mountains. Joren loved riding the 4-wheeler with his daddy and uncle Shawn's dune buggy thing. Joren also loved throwing stuff into the water. He would either throw rocks and watch them splash or he would throw sticks and watch them float down the water. We couldn't keep him away from the water. We even went rafting down the calm part of the river. Brenner wouldn't go any where near the raft, but Joren thought it was totally fun.
Brenner was so excited for fireworks and couldn't wait until it got dark. He loved sparklers and sitting there watching the little fountains and such. Joren and I had to watch from the safety of our cabin window.
We got rained on a little and the wind blew a little, but it was lots of fun. I even found a few minutes to scrapbook.

My little Crafty Artist

Brenner has always loved to color and do crafty things. It's just so amazing to see how his skills are developing. He is very creative and he's getting much better at his handwriting as well as his drawing. This is a picture of Brenner and Ryan at the pumpkin patch (I guess he can't wait for fall).
What's really amazing to me is how well he can color in the lines... and how much he loves to do it. This kind of stuff will keep him busy for quite some time. This was a color by number thing we found at the library! He loved this activity.
