Ice Skating

Yesterday I traded in my flip flops for ice skates... literally. It was so nice outside... t-shirt weather. We headed to the ice skating rink in St. George.
It was kind of hard for the kids to skate...
Pushing around the buckets worked okay, but they needed to be a little taller for B & J.
We had some of our nieces and nephew with us... they seemed to have a fun time.
Brenner got the hang of it better than the rest of our kids.
I'm thinking next time we should go should be a date night:)

Snow Canyon

On Christmas Eve we wanted to do something fun with Logan and Sydney. It was sooo nice out, so we decided to go hiking in Snow Canyon. We hiked a little around on the petrified Sand Dunes...

And we hiked to Johnson's Arch.

The boys love to hike and climb... Joren keeps asking when we're going to climb the big red mountain.

Mom made the kids all matching PJ's. They have little monkeys on them. Aren't they cute?

We played games with Logan and Sydney, Mom and Dad! It was a fun night!

So smart its scary

This kid amazes me! He is so smart. He can put together puzzles all by himself. He knows a lot if his colors, shapes and letters!

This is all thanks to his grandma Blake. She spends a lot of time teaching him!

Ascholes

Years ago... when I first started teaching... "Ascholes" was on the door sign above my door, it was my user name for instant messaging, my email address, etc. The first initial of my first name and my last name... it's what is used in education. It's what I used at Dixie and at Kearns Jr. Now that I'm back in education, it's back! My user name to log on to my computer, my email address, and on the print-out when I get copies from the workroom.

I didn't get it, at first. I'm kind of naive... but I teach teenagers... they see it right away. Do you????

On the 9th Day of Christmas...

We went to a primary activity. We bought presents for the missionaries in our area at the dollar store. At the activity we wrapped the gifts and frosted cookies. Then, the missionaries came and we watched them open their gifts and sang Christmas carols. (Ummm, I slacked... no pics)

On the 8th Day of Christmas...

We mailed our Christmas Cards! Merry Christmas!!!
(Don't be offended if you don't get one. I lost a lot of addresses when I got my new phone. Just email me your address and I'll send you one)

On the 7th Day of Christmas...

We wrote letters to Santa.

We have a tube on the tree where we deliver our letters... Santa sends and elf to pick up the letters and send one back to us.

Hope these crazy little boys get what they ask for!

On the 6th Day of Christmas...

We had our Journey Dinner.... we pretend we're traveling to Bethlem and we eat what we thought Mary and Joseph would have eaten... on a blanket on the floor with no utensils...
We had pita bread, jerky, crackers, nuts, dried fruit and olives.

On the 5th Day of Christmas...

We went to "Temple Square" (I'm still going to call it that) with Grandpa Tom, Grandma Rose, Dane & Sara.
We saw the nativity, the Christmas lights and watched a Christmas movie in the visitor's center.

On the 4th day of Christmas...

We had our ward Christmas breakfast....

... and more pictures with Santa!

Building Forts

I've been trying to convince the kids to go and play over at the farm forever. Yesterday they had friends over and no one could decide what to do that everyone would like... so I told them to go to the farm and play. I took them over there and showed them how to build a fort out of the wood pile.
Other neighbor kids showed up and we had a whole gang there! They had two different forts and they had teams. They had nerf guns and were playing some sort of war. They also had tons of fun playing on the hay stacks and jumping from level to level.
They had so much fun and no one wanted to go home.

(Scroll down for a fun post about Joren)

FunFusion Perler Beads

Joren has been really into Perler Beads lately. He has an amazing attention span and will spend all day making creations.
This is a cute Grinch that he made... love it!
Now we know what to ask Santa for:)
