Thanksgiving Point Gardens

I wanted to take the kids to the gardens at Thanksgiving Point one last time before it closed. I love the gardens in the fall with all of the beautiful leaves. And our trees at our new house are too small to produce enough leaves for the kids to play in. What would I scrapbook? So we headed down today. We got there and there was only 1 car in the parking lot. It was technically supposed to be closed but since the weather has been so nice, they were letting people in. The water was turned off in all of the fountains and the waterfall, but it was still beautiful and such nice weather. We had the whole place to ourselves and the boys loved playing in the leaves. Terek loved being outside and he didn't even mind laying on the grass.

Matchy matchy

We don't really know how to describe what it is that Joren does. He likes to organize or match things. Some days it's the "mommy" and "daddy" shoes in the closet. Sometimes it's the extra shaving creams and deordorants that I keep under my bathroom sink. A couple of days ago I actually took the time to take pictures of all of the things he had matched up. He can be quite anal about it. Ryan says he gets his OCDness from me. I guess.

Pumpkin Carving

For family night last night we carved our pumpkins. The only part of this that I like is roasting the seeds, so I leave the carving to Ryan and the kids. Brenner was grossed out by the "guts" and wouldn't go near them. But he did an excellent job of carving his pumpkin and did almost the whole thing by himself.
Joren loved "helping" Daddy carve his pumpkin. Or making a bigger mess than pumpkin carving makes on its own. So, there you have it.

2 Month Pics

Just thought I'd post a couple of my favorite pictures of Terek at 2 months. He's growing so quickly and he's getting to be a little happier all the time. Last night the boys got balloons at a My Gym halloween party. I was holding Terek and holding the balloon and he kept trying to bop it. It was really cute seeing him try to control his hands. We love this adorable little boy.

2 month comparison

I love these. I know you're sick of them, sorry. So, which one is which?
Also, here's some size comparisons. At 2 months...
Brenner 11 lbs. 12 oz. 24 "
Joren 11 lbs. 23"
Terek 12 lbs. 24"
It looks like Terek is my biggest kid!

Terek is 2 Months!

Terek turned 2 months old yesterday! I can't believe how fast time flies! We took him in for his well check today. He weighed in at 12 lbs exactly. That puts him in the 70th percentile. He was 24 inches long, which is the 90th percentile. Sounds like he's built like his dad!!! He had to have 3 shots, so I gave him some tylenol and he's sleeping like a baby (no pun intended):)

I love fall

I love fall. I really think that it is my favorite season. Maybe that's because my favorite color is orange. I love being able to take the kids pictures with pumpkins and in the corn mazes. I love all of the fun outdoor activities that there are to do in the fall. Joren, Terek and I went to a playgroup field trip to a pumpkin patch while Brenner was in preschool.
I was supposed to take the kids down to Thanksgiving Point to the Scarecrow Festival with Cami last Friday. I was still sick, so I opted to stay home. I was really sad to not be able to go. However, I sent Ryan with the kids on Saturday. They had a lot of fun and my husband is amazing to take them places.

That night we headed over to Gardner Village for the festivities there. They had a scavenger hunt, costume parade (which we kind of missed) and such stuff. It has been such nice weather here lately we just have to get outside and have some fun.

Craft Blog

My friends Cami and Angie and I have started a new blog. It's called Try this Next: a hobbie hodge podge. We will be posting crafts that we make and craft ideas that we have. We're just starting, so check us out!!!

My brothers are so funny!!!

A couple of days ago (I know, I'm behind) baby Terek was laying on the floor in the playroom. Joren and Brenner were playing peek a boo with him and he giggled. So, I guess you can say he laughed for the first time!!! What a little cutie!

Photo Scavenger Hunt

I'm a genious! Well, I can't take credit for this, I read about it in a magazine. I'm not feeling well today... chills, achy, etc. So, I've been stuck home with the kids and they were kind of driving me crazy. I had to get them out of my hair, so I sent them on a photo scavenger hunt. I made a list of 10 items, gave them each a camera, told them they had to go together and they both had to take pictures. They had to go in order and I placed them so that they would have to go all over the house and outside. They loved it and it gave me a few minutes to regroup. They found things that I wasn't thinking of and really surprised me. Here are Joren's pictures.... Pig (it's up on the shelf)
Bird
Stop Sign
Pumpkin (the Mr. Potato head pieces are in a pumpkin)
TV
Witch
Bathtub
Computer
Alligator
Slide

Skiff of Snow

Yesterday morning we woke up to a skiff of snow. The boys were so excited!!! We decked them out in their snow gear so they could go play outside. They have been waiting to be able to play in the snow. They thoroughly enjoyed the back yard! As Ryan said, it took 15 minutes to get them dressed to play outside for 5. But, I have some cute pics to scrapbook, so it's worth it!!!

Cast

Brenner got his cast off yesterday. The doctor took another x-ray and said it's looking really good, but will take 6-8 months to fully heal.

Legos

The boys have really been into Legos lately. They get on the Lego website on the computer and play games and look at the lego sets that they would like to have for Christmas. They also love the Lego star wars and Indiana Jones games on the Wii. Joren loves putting the legos together to make guns and pretend shooting people with them. Brenner is really good at following the instructions and actually putting the sets together (as long at they are pretty small sets). He's not very good at keeping the sets together, so once the pieces get scattered everywhere, he then just has to use his imagination to build his own space ships or guns or whatever, which he is really good at as well.
I think Santa may be bringing more tiny legos to our house for chrismas!!!

Reading Books

Joren has really been into reading books lately. He loves to have us read to him, but he will also pull the books off the shelf and read to himself. The ones that he has heard a thousand times, he will read them to himself. It's so cute to hear him read, "That Sam I am, that Sam I am. I do not like that Sam I am." One of his other favorites is, "Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see, I see a red bird looking at me." Well, the other day, he was holding the baby on his lap and he said, "Joren, Joren, what do you see, I see a Terek looking at me." And then continued on with his own version of the book. Sometimes he can be so adorable!!!

Temple Work

I have been wanting to go to the temple for awhile, but I've had a hard time finding time and making the commitment. So, I decided that I could go while Joren and Brenner were in preschool and I would just have to have Cami babysit Terek. I had a window of 1 hr. and 15 minutes. I figured I could do initiatory. I got to the Jordan River Temple (which is only about 15 minutes away). On the way there I thought, "If only the Oquirrh Mountain Temple were done. I could be there in 2 minutes." How spoiled are we? I got to the temple and it was a 45 minute wait. I didn't have time!!!! How crazy is that?
So, as spoiled as we are, I guess it's a good thing we have 2 new temples being built in the south end of the valley. The Draper temple (left) will have the open house mid January- mid March and is being dedicated in March. No word on the Oquirrh Mountain temple (right), but it is coming along quickly.
