Kitten Obsession

The neighbors next door have baby kittens.  They are adorable... I must admit.

Joren is absolutely obsessed with the baby kittens.  He wants to go over to their house about 50 times a day to play with the kittens.  He wants to bring them over to our house to play with them.  The thing is that he's so cute with them.  He loves the orange on the best.  And he always carries it so carefully.  He puts it on a blanket and makes a little bed for it.  He is so cute with the little kitten.
PLEASE, please talk me out of letting him keep one of them!!!!!!

Don't do it! My parents got a kitten from the neighbors when my brother begged for one. He was probably about 7 years old at the time and the cat finally died about 3 years ago. My brother is 31- do the math Anisa- it's a bad idea! They're cute now, but give it a few years and you'll wish it would just run away!

no, no, no, no, no, no, and no... Cat urine is like acid you will never get it out of anything. And you will find cat hairs in all your food, all over your clothes, etc.. I grew up with cats wish I hadn't, I did love my dog, very much, dogs are the way to go, if you are going to get a pet like that!

Why don't you find a actual cat and see if he likes to play with that. then maybe you can talk him out of wanting one. - Logan

I agree with Shellie! Don't do it. Cats pee on everything. My friend just sent her cats to live outside after she found them marking everything. They were fixed but still sprayed.
I am not really one to ask though, I don't like pets at all. So take my advice with a grain of salt!

How much do you enjoy your furniture scratched up? How much do you like the smell of cat urine and feces and you KNOW you will be the one cleaning out the litter box! And don't get my started on the hair everywhere! (My parents have an indoor cat, so I'm speaking from experience here.) Sorry to sound so negative. Let's see, on the positive side, you have something soft and cuddly to pet. But I still think the scales are tipping towards nah!

We have a cat and I have contemplated getting rid of her but my kids love her so much. I think it is good for them to be around animals and to learn to not be scared of them. We have an outside cat and that works well.

Don't do it!!! We had to get rid of our cute little orange cat because he bit David and he peed on everything! They leave hair everywhere and they scratch your furniture. Don't do it!!!

Icky cat hair and litter boxes in the house or can you have them loose in the neighborhood just to get ran over or lost?
Sorry Joren, Grandma is such a party-pooper.
